Community Takes Center Stage
At DC Management, we believe community is something you build together. Sometimes, that takes center stage.
At Motherhouse, a historic convent thoughtfully redeveloped into 88 apartment homes, that sense of connection is rooted in both place and people. The building’s original chapel, now a beautifully preserved gathering space, continues to bring residents together in a meaningful way.
Watch a video tour of Motherhouse to learn more and see the space firsthand.
Recently, it became the setting for a memorable Night at the Theater.
An Evening That Began with Community
The night began with a shared spaghetti dinner prepared by residents and neighbors. Tables were set with simple, welcoming touches and quickly filled with conversation and laughter.
Residents connected, shared stories, and enjoyed a meal that felt as much about togetherness as it did about food. The care behind the dinner, thanks in part to residents like Al and Eileen McAvoy, set the tone for the evening.
The Chapel Transformed
After dinner, residents gathered in the chapel, where history and creativity came together. With its stained-glass windows and high ceilings, the space offered a beautiful setting for the performance. It felt both intimate and uplifting.
DC Management Property Manager Jackie Condon took the stage alongside her friends Andrew Carney and Chris Figaratto, with William Sawyer on piano. Together, they performed a selection of Broadway favorites that filled the chapel with energy and joy.
Experience the Evening
A few moments from the evening are captured below, offering a glimpse into the energy, talent, and joy that filled the chapel.
A Broadway-Inspired Set List
The performance included a mix of solos, duets, and group numbers:
Instructions to the Audience – Group
Right Hand Man – Jackie Condon
We Can Do It – Andrew Carney & Chris Figaratto
The Man That Got Away – Jackie Condon
I Don’t Want to Talk About Her – Chris Figaratto
You’ll Be Back – Andrew Carney
She Used to Be Mine – Jackie Condon
All the Wasted Time – Jackie & Andrew
Old Friends – Group
Each performance brought something different, but together they created a shared experience that resonated with everyone in the room.
More Than a Performance
While the music was a highlight, what stood out most was how the evening felt.
As one resident shared,
“I have just experienced such kindness.”
That sentiment reflects what is being built at Motherhouse. It is a community rooted in care, connection, and shared experience.
Jackie Condon reflected on the evening:
“What a wonderful evening. Building community is what it’s all about. I’m grateful to work for a company that allows me to share my talents and to have two incredibly talented friends join me!”

Jackie’s role in the evening reflects the broader approach of the DC Management team. Creating opportunities like this helps foster a place where residents feel comfortable, connected, and part of something larger.
A Community That Comes to Life
At Motherhouse, the historic setting provides the backdrop, but it is the people who make it meaningful.
Residents prepared and served dinner. Neighbors showed up to support one another. Team members helped bring the evening together. This is what community looks like in action.
While each of our communities has its own character, the goal is the same. To create spaces where residents can connect, participate, and feel a true sense of belonging.
For Kevin Bunker, Principal at Developers Collaborative, this reflects his vision:
“This community is becoming exactly what I always hoped it would be, awesome.”
We are proud of our team and grateful for the residents who make Motherhouse such a special place to call home.
Because at the end of the day, community is not just where you live. It is what you create together.
